Hospitals can be a frightening place, even for adults. For children, anxiety of unknown environments can greatly intensify fear. When children think of hospitals, they can be overwhelmed by thoughts of needles, unfamiliar noises and smells, strangers, and feeling “sick” in a place that just isn’t home. Uday Foundation is reducing these perceived fears through the Meet Your Hero Program.

In our Meer Your Hero Program, a real life hero or a celebrity visit children ward of the hospital along with the volunteers of the Uday Foundation to do a small session of Storytelling and make children happy. Some time we also organize take our children going under some kind of medical treatment to meet their Heros.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who gets involved in them and we would like to thank all friends of Uday Foundation, volunteers and everyone for their wonderful support! We cannot do our work without you!

 

Yuvraj Singh – Cancer Survivor and World Cup Hero  Yuvraj Singh, one of finest cricket player of India and a Cancer survivor shared his experience that how isolated he felt during his hospital stay and very well imagine what a little child goes through while spending time in hospital’s bed, Yuvi promised to be a part of all our future activities and soon he will send van full of goodies and fun stuff for our hospital kids. HGS Dhaliwal – Indian Police Services Uday Foundation’s unique storytelling session with the presence of the DCP, South Delhi Police, HGS Dhaliwal in a new avatar of storyteller at the pediatric ward of Escorts Hospital in the National Capital was a plunge in two-fold directions.One the objectives was to provide some relief to the kids during their hospitalisation who otherwise most of the times experience anxiety, loneliness and develop fear. Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor, a talented actor of Indian Film Indistry celebrated Children’s Day with a book reading session for Children at Hinduja Hospital. Ranbir graciously offered to be photographed with all the child participants at the event and even signed their story books

The initiative aimed at making the children’s visit and stay at the hospital pleasant. The initiative will have regular book reading session, arts competitions, and other fun and recreational activities. Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt, a kid at heart, Son of Late Sunil and Nargis Dutt, widely regarded as the greatest actors and social workers of India. Sanjay Dutt not only unconditionally supported Uday Foundation’s Rare Blood Group Awareness Campaign but also continue to be part of all our little happiness.

 

Sheila Dixit, Cheif Minister of Delhi There are endless time when we need help for our terminally ill patients or a support for our health advocacy matters. With the qualities of warmth, compassion and non-judgmental attitude, Chief Minister Sheila Dixit has been part of various initiatives of the Uday Foundation. Let it be early summer vacation of Schools in Delhi due to extreme heat or a storytelling program for kids in the Hospital. She is a good listener, work in a volunteer’s style, with her unmatched skills and experience.

 

Jaideep Sahni Jaideep Sahni, one of the best storyteller of our times, Jaideep wrote for popular hindi movies like Chak De India, Rocket Singh Sales Man of the Year, Bunty aur Babli etc. Jaideep happily became part of our Storytelling Program for the Kids in the Hospital.
