On August 3, 2011, Hindustan Times reported about a heart rending story about how critically-ill patients are forced to live in a public toilet outside AIIMS Hospital, which is considered a best hospital in India.

Later it was reported to that the said unused toilets belongs to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and asked these patients to vacant the premises, leaving them without shelter.

Uday foundation immediately came into the action and arranged suitable place where they can live peacefully till the time they want along with the arrangement of all meals.

It is unfortunate that poor patients with no money have no option but to live in subways, under flyovers, on pavements, under trees — and some in unused urinals.
