Uday Foundation organised a magic show at Dr. B.R.A Institute-Rotary Cancer Hospital, AIIMS, on the occasion of Children’s Day
Nation’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru’s birthday on November 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day in India, a day of fun and frolic, a celebration of childhood, children and Nehruji’s love for them.
This year Children’s Day brought smiles to hundreds of children admitted at the Cancer hospital in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Uday Foundation organised a magic show at Dr. B.R.A Institute-Rotary Cancer Hospital, AIIMS, on the occasion of Children’s Day.
Seven-year-old Akshit Gupta, a blood cancer patient who underwent a radiotherapy session just before the show, said “I loved it and it was really nice. I got a lot of gifts and chocolates.”
The show was organised for a group of 200 children who had come to AIIMS for cancer checkup and treatment.
According to Dr, G K Rath, Chief of Dr. B.R.A Institute-Rotary Cancer Hospital, AIIMS, some of the children are in a very critical stage and have been undergoing radiotherapy for quite some time and it was really great to see these children smile and they clapped after every performance.
The whole idea was to make these children enjoy their day after undergoing painful cancer treatment.
